Tata Consultancy Services are a major Indian IT contractor, who have worked extensively on the Aadhaar identity system.[1]
They are also delivering the MyAccount system for the Scottish Improvement Service.[2]
Aadhar contracts
Tata Consultancy Services were awarded contracts to deliver “Re-design, maintenance and support of UIDAI portal”, “Biometric devices” and “Piped Data Connectivity” by 2011 for the Indian state’s Aadhaar identity system.[3]
Aadhaar payment system
Tata have integrated Aadhaar with a payment system, Merchant Pay.[4]
“Consumers will be able to transact at a Merchant Pay-enabled store by using their fingerprint to confirm their identity, provided their Aadhaar number is registered with their bank.”[5]
Scottish myaccount system
Tata are “technology partners” to the Improvement Service to deliver the MyAccount system, now used by nearly half of the Scottish population.[6]
