Phil Bennion MEP

Phillip Bennion (born 1954) is a British Liberal Democratic Member of the European Parliament. He represents the West Midlands and was appointed to the Parliament in 2012.

ACTA

Mr. Bennion voted against ACTA, both in committee and in the Parliament. On the committee vote, he stated that "I had grave doubts about ACTA shared by a number of constituents who wrote to me about it. The more I looked into it the more it became clear that this could open the way to governments criminalising ordinary internet us...I am pleased that we swung the vote in committee and added another vital nail to ACTA's coffin."
