Huawei is the Chinese manufacturer of communications networking equipment. This includes communications infrastructure used by BT and web filtering devices such as those used by TalkTalk HomeSafe.
Most personal hotspot devices supplied by UK mobile phone companies are rebadged Huawei devices. The Huawei HG612 is the device supplied by BT Openreach for every subscriber to "Fibre To The Cabinet" service.
Cyber Security Evaluation Centre
Huawei operates a security testing centre in Banbury, known as "the Cell", since 2010. A report by the Intelligence and Security Committee in June 2013 recommended that GCHQ have greater oversight over this facility as part of protecting the UK's infrastructure.
