Active Choice

Active Choice refers to the provision of filtering tools to parents in the UK by Internet Service Providers.

The aim of the ISPs involved is that all customers are provided with an unavoidable choice whether they wish to use such tools, and are then guided through set up steps if they choose to install them.

It has been suggested that Active Choice +, in which filtering is pre-selected and subscribers must explicitly de-select filtering options they do not want, is at odds with the government's Consumer Rights Bill which would ban pre-ticked boxes.[1]
