Legislation

Depending on the legislation's topic and ORG's interests, the subsequent categories for each piece of legislation will differ. However, the following should always be covered for each of the categories below.

UK Legislation

For Bills and Acts include the following information:

• An introductory section containing: full name of legislation, whether it's a private member's bill or government bill, date of introduction, by whom, what is the current status, what is the next step. Is the legislation setting out new laws or is it amending a previous act?

• The clauses which are of interest to us with a copy by the text

• Executive Summary, only if there are multiple provisions of the bill that is of interest to ORG

Proposed legislation

For any proposed legislation detail

• why it is of interest to ORG

• who is it introduced by

• status of the bill including next steps

European legislation

Directives (general rules to be transferred into national law – as deemed appropriate)
