Talk:DNA Consultation

OK, I'm going to kick off our response to this consultation by drafting answers to a few of the questions. Mostly we're thinking out loud at this stage, so I expect lively debate and discussion, some of which will doubtless spill over onto the ORG-Discuss list as well as this page.

Please pitch in and add your opinions, especially if you happen to be a biochemist or a forensic scientist and can help with the more directly technical areas. If you have personal experience of the issues involved and would be willing to add your testimony, that would also be gratefully received, as would any other input people care to add at this stage.

The deadline for this consultation is 30 January 2007. I suggest we aim to go into the Christmas period with a finished draft, which would then give us plenty of time for peer review and refinement.
