Lord Macdonald of River Glaven

Lord Kenneth Macdonald QC of River Glaven is a jurist on the Queen's Council and a part time judge in the Crown Court[1].

During the second reading of the Data Retention and Investigatory Powers Act 2014, Lord Macdonald said there should be a reform of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 also known as (RIPA), since the 'Snowden revelations'. He called for the creation of a council similar to the American QC part-time judge in the Crown Court. Wants reform of RIPA since Snowden revelations, calls for council similar to the American Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board[2] .

He strongly supported the passage of DRIP.
