Sir Keir Starmer, KCB, QC, was Director of Public Prosecutions from November 2008 to November 2013 before becoming the Labour MP for Holborn and St Pancras in 2015.
Public interest defence
In a speech to the Press Club in 2015, Starmer argued[1] in favour of introducing public interest defences into law which would protect investigative journalist activity.
