The International Telecommunication Union (ITU or UIT) is the UN agency dealing with issues of connectivity and telecommunications globally.
Issues
In December 2012 the UN ITU will meet in Dubai for a conference called the World Conference on International Telecommunications 2012. Critics of the organisations activities have suggested that this meeting could eventually afford governments the power to clamp down on internet access.
