Career

Gordon Henderson has held a number of elected posts in local government. He was twice deputy leader of Swale Borough Council and was also a Kent County Councillor, during which time he sat both on the Education Committee and the Kent Police Authority. He has retained a keen interest in education and Law and Order. At the 2005 General Election Gordon was the Parliamentary Candidate for Sittingbourne & Sheppey and came within 79 votes of winning the seat for the Conservative Party.Gordon Henderson stood again in 2010 and his hard work in the community paid off when he won with a 12,383 majority.

Prior Career

Gordon Henderson has done a variety of jobs, including running his own restaurant in South Africa, being a senior contracts officer for GEC Marconi (in Rochester), a director of the Unwins Wine Group and most recently Operations Manager for the largest independent alcohol based gift wholesalers in the UK.
