Legal Challenge Against EU Data Retention Directive

In 2014, the Court of Justice of the European Union delivered judgment in a legal challenge brought by Digital Rights Ireland against the EU Data Retention Directive (Joint Cases C-293/12 and C-594/12, Digital Rights Ireland Limited v Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources & Others and Seitlinger and Others).
