Office of Surveillance Commissioners
(Redirected from Chief Surveillance Commissioner)Office of Surveillance Commissioners (OSC) provides oversight of those using covert surveillance, as defined by the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (i.e. it does not cover the use of surveillance by Security Services). OSC is a tribunal non-departmental public body of the Home Office.
In addition to the Chief Surveillance Commissioner, there are six Surveillance Commissioners and three Assistant Surveillance Commissioners.
The Office of Surveillance Commissioners was replaced by the Investigatory Powers Commissioner in September 2017.
