From Risks Digest Hacking, Viruses, and UK Law
- In April '89, Emma Nicholson, MP, proposed a private member's bill to make various hacking activities illegal. This was generally thought to be poorly researched, and too hastily drafted. It was roundly attacked in the Guardian by, among others, Peter Sommer (aka Hugo Cornwall, author of "The Hacker's Handbook). The bill failed for lack of time. (A frequent fate of private members' bills.)
