British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) is the principle "censor" for UK media including films and, to some extent, video games.
Porn censorship and Age Verification
The Digital Economy Act 2017 legislates that an Age Verification Regulator is created to oversee the use of Age verification tools by UK adults to access pornography.
They are also granted enforcement powers including administrative blocking powers to force UK ISPs to hinder access to non-compliant sites based overseas.
In July 2013 the BBFC took over from the Independent Mobile Classification Board in providing the framework for mobile operators to apply filter classification.
