Terrorism Act 2006

Section 3

Section 3^[1] gives the police power to demand the removal from public availability, within two working days, of content on the internet deemed to be encouraging or inciting terrorists. The Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit is the police body that makes these requests. As of 2013 "In practice providers co-operate willingly and CTIRU have never served any ISPs with a formal notice and take-down request under Section three".^[2]
