TalkTalk is a mobile and broadband ISP in the UK. As well as its own brands, it also operates the network for Post Office broadband customers.
Network filtering
Since 2006 a system called "StreamShield" from Detica is used to implement IWF filtering and court-ordered site blocking. It spent "a six figure sum" upgrading it in 2014, and a "four figure sum is spent on monthly running costs".[1]
TalkTalk offers a user configurable interface to its other network filtering technology marketed as HomeSafe. In court documents the filtering technology is referred to as SIG (Service Inspection Gateway).
As mentioned in a 2023 court order TalkTalk has the capability to block access to specific IP addresses if ordered ('blackholing').
